It rains too much here to go for crazy slick tires

All the ladies want to have his child... but little do they know the power of Michelin rubber technology.

A friend of mine has pilot super sports on his M5, and holy shit do they grip in the dry/damp. He did get caught in the snow once on them, said they actually weren’t all that bad but not something you want to repeat

Not true. A couple of years ago, when I was still living in California, I went to Tahoe, which is in Nevada. The route to Tahoe however required snow chains at that time (January). Not all of California is desolate and dry. When you get up to the Sierra Nevadas, it’ll snow.

I’m not fun at parties.

Was waiting for a “it snows in NorCal” person to arrive.

It kind of snows in NorCal, and by that, I mean it snowed once a little when I was in 8th grade. Before that, it hadn’t snowed in the area for 30 years.

They are amazing in the wet - no fun, but amazing. But any cooler than about 60° and they turn into plastic. Which is great fun, but a little scary. But also very, very controllable. I’m on my second set, with PS2s before that. They’re much, much better than the PS2s, and last far longer as well.

Your friend couldn’t have been in much snow - they are terrifying in snow.

When we got our fourth snow storm in Dallas last winter I decided we’d had enough snow for the locals to learn how to drive. Which was true. But if I hadn’t been raised in the far north I’d have stuffed it. They’d start sliding with anything more than rev-matched downshifts and sleepy grandma acceleration.

Nor cal has hosted the winter Olympics... It kinda snows a whole shit ton in the Sierras, like there are still glaciers in the Sierras(not for long).

It was 3 or 4 inches when he got surprised; that said he does drive it year round (though winter gets blizzaks or such), and got an interesting reaction when showing up to a time/speed/distance rally in a blizzard last january in an e39 m5. He came in last but probably had the most fun. Odometer read about 7 miles for every 5 actually covered.
